    Condition: Good
Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Some minor scuffs and pin sized holes here and there. Many small hand-sewn mendings throughout the piece and three larger gorgeous repairs. It is a timeworn fabric, but very large and very usable! The mendings give it a beautiful old patina. Dense, but soft and moldable textile. Perfect for projects that require a large amount of material. Exquisite!

  • How To Shop
  • Magnificent greenish beige French ticking fabric with white stripes. It is a dense French herringbone fabric called “Coutil” or “Toile à Matelas” from the first half of the 1900s. This piece was part of a mattress cover, we have recovered it for you. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. Beautiful herringbone fabric.

ROSARIO SAYS: “These beige and white tones, the herringbone and this type of stripes are very characteristic of French mattresses.
