Original vintage ticking with stripes in different shades of beige, brown, red, black, yellow and white. The years have given it a wonderful aged patina. It is a strong European fabric made around 1950 from herringbone weave. In the past, these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called “cutís” (from the French “coutil”). It is made of light to medium weight cotton. The herringbone has been used not only as a type of fabric but to reinforce the visual texture, and it also makes it very consistent.

#2 - 63 × 110 cm (25" × 44" / 1.22 yards)

CONDITION
Fair condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Panel #1 perfect color, only some slight discoloration towards the sides. Otherwise beautiful antique condition. Panel #2 slight fading. Still very usable and nice. Nice little brown eyelets.
