Unusual vintage ticking with red and white stripes along with another gray multi-stripe area. It is a European damask fabric, around 1940. This textile, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is medium type cotton. In the red band, the jacquard fabric draws abstract shapes that represent bunches of grapes and sketched leaves. Especially soft and drapey fabric. We have this same fabric in cobalt blue.

ROSARIO SAYS: “I am fascinated by the originality of this fabric, mixing the abstract jacquard pattern with the design of longitudinal stripes”.
