Fascinating Finnish striped ticking in red, black and off-white. It is an old twill fabric, on a 58 cm wide manual loom from the early 1900s. At this time, the mattress was made up of two long pieces joined together. It is a very dense twill to contain the goose feathers and on the reverse it is slightly flanned, as can be seen in other fabrics of the time. This fabric is as genuine as it gets. Charming appearance both for the quality of the dense and intact fabric and for the look and colors.

ROSARIO SAYS: "It is a magnificent fabric that is both cheerful and rustic at the same time. It is ideal for projects where we want to reproduce the passage of time"

MEASUREMENTS
I am selling this textile per piece - each:
58 cm wide × 3.8 meters long (23" × 4.16 yards)
I have 2 pieces just like this, for a total of 7.6 meters (~8.32 yards) combined. Glorious for larger projects.

WHY IT’S SOLD THIS WAY
These textiles come from old cover textiles, traditionally woven on narrow handlooms. To achieve the desired width, two long strips were often joined in the middle. We carefully unpick these pieces, preserving both selvedges intact, to offer them as individual lengths. This gives you flexibility to purchase fabric in manageable widths while preserving the authenticity and larger fabric quantity.

CONDITION
Excellent condition. It only has a few small rubs and an L-shaped patch. Otherwise, the piece is perfect! The width is made up of two long strips joined in the center, indicating that it was made on a narrow loom. It usually indicates the age of the fabric. Exceptional and extremely rare! A real treasure.
