Wonderful vintage French gray ticking fabric with white stripes. It is a dense French herringbone fabric called “Coutil” or “Toile à Matelas” from the first half of the 1900s. This piece was part of a mattress cover, We have recovered it for you. It is a medium-weight cotton fabric. The herringbone weave reinforces visual linearity.

ROSARIO SAYS: “This fabric is resistant and durable, which makes it a very practical as well as beautiful textile.”
