Formidable vintage beige ticking fabric with white stripes. It is a dense French herringbone fabric called “Coutil” or “Toile à Matelas” from the first half of the 1900s. This piece was part of a mattress cover, we have recovered it for you. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. The herringbone weave reinforces visual linearity.
ROSARIO SAYS: “These beige and white tones, the herringbone and this type of stripes are very characteristic of French mattresses.
