Beautiful vintage ticking with beige and blue stripes and some thin white stripes. It is a European “cutí” (or in French “coutil”) twill fabric from around 1940. This textile, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is light-medium weight cotton. It has a delicious combination of colors.

CONDITION
#1 - Distressed. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. Original color. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. The fabric is firm and good but it has multiple, very small scuffs throughout the piece. Some more significant scuffs. A pea size hole to the side. Original color. If anything, a slight fading towards the sides. A large water stain towards one side. Not at all perfect but with the imperfections often present in these beautiful antique textiles.
#2 - Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Only a few light wear marks towards the bottom where the seams were, the rest of the piece is impeccable. (It is 58x104 cm without these marks, where the seams were). Not at all perfect but with the imperfections often present in these beautiful antique textiles.
#3 - Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Just a very pale water mark towards the side that probably comes out when washing. The rest of the piece in fantastic antique condition.
#4 - Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Very good. Only very light scuffs to the side, practically imperceptible. Some rust marks towards the side, otherwise in impeccable vintage condition.
#5 - Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Original color. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Very good. Some small scratches towards the side and pin-sized holes towards the lower area - the body is excellent.
