Beautiful vintage ticking fabric in light mustard yellow with a motif of large white flowers that look like chrysanthemums. It is a European damask fabric from around 1930. This piece, recovered and freshly laundered, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is a medium weight cotton. Dahlias and chrysanthemums appear in many Japanese motifs, a very fashionable representation of 1900 in Europe. (Art Nouveau, Modernisme). The chrysanthemum is one of the symbols of Japan.
