An extraordinary find! Magnificent Finnish ticking made of very rustic and thick linen (linen tow) with longitudinal red, blue and off-white stripes. Woven on a handloom 56 cm wide. It is a piece from the early 1900s. The term "tow" refers to the shorter flax fibers left over from the spinning process. Threads and fabrics made from tow fibers are usually thicker and more rustic in nature. One of a kind.

ROSARIO SAYS: "It is a wonderful fabric. A true collector's piece!! A luxury to have this unique piece."

MEASUREMENTS
I am selling this textile per piece - each:
56 cm wide × 3.6 meters long (23" × 3.94 yards)
I have 2 pieces just like this, for a total of 7.2 meters (~7.8 yards) combined. Glorious for larger projects.

WHY IT’S SOLD THIS WAY
These textiles come from old cover textiles, traditionally woven on narrow handlooms. To achieve the desired width, two long strips were often joined in the middle. We carefully unpick these pieces, preserving both selvedges intact, to offer them as individual lengths. This gives you flexibility to purchase fabric in manageable widths while preserving the authenticity and larger fabric quantity.

CONDITION
Excellent condition. It is an antique textile with no defects, probably never worn. The width is made up of two long strips joined in the center, indicating that it was made on a narrow loom. It usually indicates the age of the textile. Exceptional and extremely rare! It is just as it was found, unwashed and unused. Fabulous!
