Gorgeous very antique blue and white ticking with a geometric pattern weave. It is a European twill fabric from the first half of the 1900s. This textile was part of a wool mattress cover. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. Soft to the touch with matte cotton threads. Due to the type of fabric, it is double-sided. It was woven on a 70 cm wide hand loom. Due to the weave of the fabric, it is reversible.

ROSARIO SAYS: “The squares of this type of fabric are a way to decorate the simple stripes. A very similar fabric was reproduced in central Europe and also in the USA, in the old coverlets of the 1800s.
