Very rare light rose pink and white vintage ticking with an oriental motif. It is a European damask fabric from around 1950. This textile, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is made of cotton. The designs recall the drawings and patterns of French fabrics such as the Toile de Jouy and the Indianas due to the arrangement of the pieces. In this textile, the motifs are very original: Arab horsemen in battle, dancers, camel riders,… Arab architecture and palm trees frame the scenes.
Some cushions would turn out wonderful - we wouldn't get tired of looking at them! Jacquard stitches have been used to mark the different textures of the lattices of the palaces.
