Extraordinary and antique Finnish cover made of cotton and rustic linen (linen tow). This fabric is handmade twill. The term "tow" refers to the shorter flax fibers left over from the yarn. It features stripes of different shades of indigo and off-white. The pillow is double-sided. It can be used as is or reconfigured for projects.
ROSARIO SAYS: "These canvases are from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They can be seen in the collection of the Seurasaari Open Air Museum in Finland. I think they are elegant pieces because of the simplicity of the colors and the softness that has been achieved with linen. A wonderful treasure!"

CONDITION
Fair condition. Ticking in distressed condition. A wonderful historical fabric. As found for collectors. This fabric has pale marks, stains and flaws, very dirty in areas! This ticking is not suitable for anyone needing a textile in perfect condition, but it's perfect for someone that is used to working with antique fabric and values the signs of time and use and looking to add charm and character. A worn piece but with a great value. The small scuffings give it a beautiful old patina. Maybe not for everyone. Extremely beautiful and rare!
