Lovely mint green and pink striped vintage ticking with some thin white and red stripes. It is a European twill fabric called cutí (or in French “coutil”) from around 1940. This textile was part of a wool mattress cover. It is a medium weight cotton fabric. It has a delicious combination of colors. The herringbone weave reinforces linearity.

CONDITION
#1 - Fair condition. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. Color unevenly faded with time. Minimal scuffing throughout the piece. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. It has a piece joined at the top with a beautiful pink hand stitching. The upper corner is somewhat irregular. Not at all perfect, but with the imperfections inherent in these beautiful antique textiles. Very large and rare!
#3 - Distressed. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. Color unevenly faded with time. Some pale marks throughout the piece. Minimal scuffing towards the middle. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Not at all perfect but with the imperfections often present in these beautiful antique textiles.
