Unusual vintage maroon, gray and white striped ticking. It is a European damask fabric, circa 1930-1940. This textile, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is cotton. On the garnet band, the jacquard fabric draws abstract shapes that represent bunches of grapes and sketched leaves. And the white area is nuanced by fine gray stripes. Especially soft and draped fabric. We have this same fabric in blue.
ROSARIO SAYS: "I am fascinated by the originality of this fabric, mixing the abstract jacquard pattern with the design of longitudinal stripes"
