Spectacular vintage ticking with wide red and white stripes. It is a European sateen cutí fabric (from the French “coutil”) from around 1920. This textile, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is light to medium weight cotton. It is a very cheerful fabric with a very bright strawberry red, which has kept its color despite the years.

Distressed. Some prominent signs of wear: may have significant losses, fading or structural issues. Some pale marks towards the side seams. Minimal scuffing towards the middle. A significant tear towards the side seams. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Both selvages preserved intact. Very nice hand-moldable texture.
