Cheerful vintage ticking with stripes of yellow, grey, white and a slight black line. It is a strong European fabric made around 1950 from sateen weave. In the past, these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called “cutís” (or in French “coutil”). The sateen weave and the years have made this fabric feel soft and very moldable. The yellow tone gives a warm appearance to our projects.

MEASUREMENTS
Ticking lot composed of 2 pieces:
#1 - 127 × 105 cm (50" × 42" / 1.16 yards)
#3 - 55 × 84 cm (22" × 34" / 0.94 yards)

CONDITION
#1 - Fair condition. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. The color has held up well overall, except in a few small areas where the black line to the sides has bled through a bit. Almost imperceptible.
Some eyelets are somewhat deteriorated. A water stain shadows towards the center (a small area of 1 -2 cm) A vertical cut towards the center on the bottom edge. Not at all perfect but with the imperfections often present in these beautiful antique textiles. Still a beautiful and large piece!
#3 - Fair condition. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. The color has held up well overall, except in a few small areas where the black line to the sides has bled through a bit. Almost imperceptible. Some eyelets are somewhat deteriorated. One selvedge. Some areas of scuffing towards the sides of the selvedge. A small authentic hand-made darn - lovely!
